Hello and welcome back to us! Massive apologies to those who were awaiting a new podcast with a heightened sense of anticipation. I imagine you may  have inadvertently worn out the edge of your seat and your breath may be smelly a bit baity. In terms of excuses, basically there’s not many.. we recorded this about a month ago, but I’ve only just gotten around to editing it. Blame writing for a new Channel 31 show, moving into a new house, and sobbing about how bad the Saints are so far this year. Anyway, what we’re presenting for your audible pleasure today is a pretty tasty morsel of ear love-making. So enjoy, and send your abuse to podcast@favouritefive.com

So despite the fact that this is now mid-Feb, we’ve finally gotten round to recording, editing and publishing our awards podcast. In our defence, Brad had something sporty to do, Dan had a plane to catch (even though as I type this he has since returned from that plane trip), and I had to call people and pretend to be a good tenant to get a new house (which, I might add, I did bloody successfully).

We’ll be back relatively soon when we’re able to get our schedules aligned again. Brad’s people will talk to my people, my people will talk to Dan’s people, and then back to my people to talk to Brad’s people because their people don’t see eye to eye (long-story short, don’t stab someone in the eye). As promised, we are back! Here to riff on topics like many others before, but in a way that is unique to probably only 5 or 6 other podcasts. I jest, but really, who else can meld topics such as pre-Christmas injuries, potential outcomes of PS3 games that 1/3rd of the team knows nothing about, and Flavor Flav turning into one of the old guys who hang out in the barber shop in the movie Coming to America.

Fivers, congratulations for your decision to download for free the latest episode of Favourite Five. This podcast experience has been enhanced for your listening pleasure. The least best 2% of jokes have been removed for after a rigorous quality assurance process, and the “normaliser” that automatically adjusts volume levels throughout the podcast has been adjusted and renamed the “above averager”. A team of boat people have been recruited and given temporary protection visas in return for listening to several draft edits, providing their feedback and powering the editing suite with a series of human-sized hamster wheel generators (Tony Abbott, please don’t stop the boats). And lastly, rather than trusting the usual free-downloaded FTP program we use to upload the podcast file to the Internet, I personally drove to the Internet’s reception centre and gave them a USB stick for the mainframe. In short, this podcast has could not have been better prepared for your ears (but we apologise for the late upload nonetheless).
