Episode 52 – Signs of the Apocolypse!
Fivers, congratulations for your decision to download for free the latest episode of Favourite Five. This podcast experience has been enhanced for your listening pleasure. The least best 2% of jokes have been removed for after a rigorous quality assurance process, and the “normaliser” that automatically adjusts volume levels throughout the podcast has been adjusted and renamed the “above averager”. A team of boat people have been recruited and given temporary protection visas in return for listening to several draft edits, providing their feedback and powering the editing suite with a series of human-sized hamster wheel generators (Tony Abbott, please don’t stop the boats). And lastly, rather than trusting the usual free-downloaded FTP program we use to upload the podcast file to the Internet, I personally drove to the Internet’s reception centre and gave them a USB stick for the mainframe. In short, this podcast has could not have been better prepared for your ears (but we apologise for the late upload nonetheless).

No commentsEpisode 51 – Replacement Movie Stars
Ever watched a movie and been all like “hey, who is this dude in the movie and why is he acting in a way that makes me think that someone else could possibly have been acting in this movie in a manner that is more pleasing to at least three-out-of-five of my senses?”. Well, basically that’s what this podcast is about. That and some quotes from Mel Gibson’s infamous telephone conversations (apologies if some of them are highly offensive, such as my reference 20 minutes in regarding what you can see from behind… but of course, I’m assuming that if you didn’t like offensive by about episode 51 you wouldn’t be downloading). More topics please and who should Brad vote for, podcast@favouritefive.com.

Happy 50th to us, and many, many, many thanks to those of you who have listened to all of them – all 38 hours of them, not including this episode. Its kinda scary to think about that. Please don’t sue. This episode includes information about things that you may not have heard before, otherwise known as facts, trivia or poducation. You’re welcome in advance. And simply because we want you to download this, masterchef, masterchef, masterchef.
Happy 50th! podcast@favouritefive.com

2 commentsEpisode 49 – TV Shows of the Past 10 Years
This week we take a trip through memory lane and examine our favourite television shows of the past 10 years. Its a short lane admittedly, more like just ducking behind a building or the garden path. But that’s the cliche, and at 9:48am on a Sunday morning something more prosaic is not presenting itself in my braintank. In other news, don’t hesitate to get your suggestions forward for our 50th episode’s topic. We’re looking for something to talk about, and you may have that something. If not, we may have to end up going with Dan’s suggestion of “Favourite Five times I’ve mentioned Family Guy” or my suggestion of “Favourite Five in-jokes” or Brad’s suggestion of “Favourite Five Things About Julie Bishop”. Email your best to podcast@favouritefive.com

1 commentEpisode 48 – Things We Don’t Have Anymore
Okay. So, this may just be one of the most shambolic episodes ever. And you know what? I’m cool with that. By way of explanation, just before we started recording we were listening to Mark Morrison’s Return of the Mack, Eric Cartman singing Poker Face, and hanging out on Chat Roulette until seeing one too many penis (so, after about 37 of them).
In other news, we’re looking at recording our 50th episode really soon and are looking around for big, fun, celebratory topics. Got an idea? Write that idea into an email, address the email to podcast@favouritefive.com, and then push the send button. You’ll get some credit and that, totally promise. Enjoy!
