But really, the whole “Favourite Five” thing is a sham, and we just wanted to air our grievances about the human race. So here it is, our favourite five things we hate about people.     Based on this podcast I’m trying to be a better person. I’m attempting to be more considerate in traffic, I’m making sure to watch plenty of commercial television and when I’m faced with a tough decision, I ask myself…what would Jono want me to do?

    Since listening back to this episode I want to go on record about changing my mind.
    Dan’s “people being overly praised for doing their jobs” hatred, I went along with initially but now I think people like firefighters, police, screw it…even dogwalkers, I mean, whoever, we should be praising these people for doing what they do. Even if they’re glory-hounding, I say let ‘em go for it. The public will choose who’s worthy of acclaim and who’s just talking themself up.
    Am I being idealistic or just a dickhead?

    but the question remains – if they weren’t getting paid for it, would they still do it?

    I bet if you didn’t get paid, you’d eventually stop going to work. You shouldn’t get praise any more than a fireman should get praise – because you’re just doing your job. You teach kids because that’s what you’re supposed to do. Your praise is that little injection of cash every month. Now, I wish I was noble enough to say that there are people that do what they do because they love it, but I think that’d utter bullshit
